Helping others must become a way of life (Geshe Michael Roach)

“It has to become a way of life that you help others. It has to become an instinct that when you want something you try to get it for someone else. Right now we have the opposite instinct, “what I want I must take from others, I must deny from others, I must compete with others”. That’s our current instinct, and to change an instinct is very hard.”

“If enough people are able to change that instinct, this whole world will change. People will act differently towards each other. Those who don’t want to be yelled at will stop yelling, in order to not be yelled at. Then it will just be an instinct and the world will change.”

Excerpted from a lecture in Phoenix, Arizona in which Geshe Michael Roach teaches how to achieve success in every aspect of your life: to reach financial prosperity and a successful and satisfying career; to become full of energy; to enjoy warm and lasting personal relationships; to become a calm and more focused person; and to help change our family, our community, and our world.
